Working with Nanaimo Forest Products at their Harmac site, PE Tech was retained to assess all marshaling structures to support the integration of new control systems to existing cables. As part of this design PE Tech developed integrated marshalling systems to reduce cabinet floor space requirements, and redesigned existing backup controls for supervisory systems. With thousands of connection points assessed and documented, only one connection required the team to perform troubleshooting following installation. This level of attention to detail throughout this project was essential to a successful project, and on-time delivery for the client. This phase of design was successful in converting 60% of the plant to DeltaV with zero process interruptions. The remainder of the plant will be completed in future project phases.
